Easter 2008

We had a fantastic weekend. As you can see most of the fort is built behind the kids. When the top gets completed, I will posta better picture. Brian, his dad and Zach worked all day Saturday to get this much completed. The kids are loving it already. Can you believe that Hannah is 10 and Zach will be 5 next week? Yes my baby is going to be 5! Brian's parents came over on Friday evening and spent the weekend with us. It was great to have them here. I hope your Easter weekend was as great as ours.

Zach and the snow

Yes more snow pictures but I just found these on the camera that Brian took of Zach. I couldn't resist putting them up on the site.

Just watching the girls build the first snowman. They kept him running to the house to get items to dress up the snowman.
Later in the afternoon, Brian and Zach went out and built and OU snowman. Then just before dark, he took the broom out and knocked down both of our snowmen. It was funny watching him beat the snow with a broom.
Lastly, we don't have sleds because it never snows like this in southeast Arkansas. We only see snow when we go to my parents in Colorado and they have all the sleds in the basement. Zach made a sled out of the trash can lid. Not a big hill but just enough for him to understand the concept of sledding.

Spring Break Entertainment

Much to my surprise when I arrived home on Saturday night was a backyard fort kit. Brian and the kids decided to take on a project for Spring Break. Tonight before dinner, Zach fell out of the structure and now has the beginning of a black eye. When the fort is finished I will then post a picture but until then here is my sweet young man who is in heaven putting something together with daddy.

It's Official!

All of the paperwork has been approved. I am going to the Model Schools Conference at Disney World in June and the family is coming with me. Actually there is a small group going so it will be a blast. We will be staying at the Disney Yacht Club Hotel for six nights. We are all excited. The only other time we have been as a family was about 3 1/2 years ago. Zach was 20 months old and doesn't remember anything. He will be 5 and Hannah will be 10. It will be a great time.

Saturday Fun

This is the beautiful picture I woke up to this morning at 6:30 am. The kids went out last night at 9:30 pm and played in the snow. Hannah measured the snow and it was around 8 inches and still snowing when we went to bed at 10:30. We had house guests last night from Searcy. Harmony's parents came to pick her up to go home but they couldn't make it back. We had a large slumber party. We enjoyed the Black's visit.
Zach had a great time helping the girls build the snow man. He kept running to the house to get the carrot, grapes and raisins to make the face. This is the first snow that Zach really will remember and had fun playing in.

Hannah and Sydney were out early this morning running through the neighborhood in the snow. They went and got Clark and Walker and had a snowball fight at one point.

Still Snowing....

Hannah just measured the driveway and there is at least 6 inches and still snowing. This reminds me of home (Colorado)!
Can you believe it is snowing in Monticello in March???? Well it is. UAM closed campus at 1 pm and the schools closed at 2 pm. Everyone is home. The kids and dog headed out to play in the snow. They are having a blast. Zach had to put on Brian's sunglasses because the snow was coming down and bothering his eyes. Hannah is all set for some serious business. Shadow is just in heaven because he can play with them in the back yard.

Little Rock Marathon Weekend

Brian ran the full marathon this weekend, so we got a weekend out of town as a family. This is basically the only weekend of the year we stay in Little Rock as a family. This was Brian's first full marathon. He has run two half-marathons over the last year. He finished in 5 hours and 50 minutes. Here is a picture of Brian and Ricky Naron after they both finished the 26.2 miles. Ricky and his family go to church with us.

Here is a picture of the kids waiting to cheer daddy on at mile 6.
